Jon, seriously brother, save the judgment for the Olympics and the art fair. Your anger and absolute disgust for one style, which also gives God glory (contemporary and traditional music both do this) is what really turns the world away from Christians. Also, please don’t comment on someones ignorance while misspelling contemporary. Your wretchedness gives the appearance of superiority.

Sorry Russ, some people are truly ignorant and won’t even bother to see beyond their own preference. Keep fighting the fight.

I have always imagined Paul to have a physical disability, perhaps poor eyesight. I cannot think it could be a demon as he surely could cast it out. In my humble opinion, I believe God did not heal him because He knows we can all identify with Paul in some way. God know that none of us are perfect

I seen your title Russell, and came running, thinking… finally, someone has the answer. It’s interesting you posted this, as I was listening to a sermon yesterday that brushed by this topic, just long enough for the pastor to remark that most contributions from church history agree it was a physical ailment. I am presently still single and in my early 30′s but I have scripture that just keeps me going and that is the scripture that says none shall lack its mate and I can not fufil that part of the scripture negatively but in a positive way, meaning that I will definately get married cos its the will of God for me.

Thanks for the comment, Maggie. We’ve got something in common: I spent an intense few minutes on a kitchen floor one night myself. That’s when this backslidden Christian became a completely broken, submitted, all-out follower of Christ. I guess the Lord does some of His best work on kitchen floors.

I understand this completely. I had it all, I did not need God. In one summer, like Job, my world fell apart, I lost it all. It was there, crying on the kitchen floor of a home I was about to lose, that God picked me up and set my feet on solid ground and gave me a song in my heart and I was filled with joy. There is no turning back.
